Robert Mellin, Ph.D., Associate Professor in the School of Architecture, McGill University from 1999-2019, is a registered member of the Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Architects and a Fellow of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada. He is a Past-President of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts (RCA), and a Past-Chair of Heritage NL. In 2003, he received the Winterset Literary Award for his book on the architecture of Tilting, Fogo Island. He was appointed a Member of the Order of Canada in 2014, and Memorial University awarded him an honourary doctorate in 2015. In 2018, he was appointed a Member of the Order of Newfoundland and Labrador.
